Zubo arrived at our shelter two months ago, found on the street as bone and skin. His story is one of those difficult fates of Slavonian dogs that break us again and again. His former owner got his mom, and when she gave birth, he divided her and all the puppies. Only Zubu could not catch. He and a friend chased him around the yard, and when that didn't work, the owner lured him to the box and locked him there. As a heavy alcoholic, he "simply" forgot to feed him... Zubo was left to starve in that box until he somehow managed to escape to the street. He emerged from the episode with deep trauma and severe scars. When you know what he went through, it's clear why it took him a while to realize that a human hand would no longer harm him. Today, Zubo is safe in the shelter and slowly opens his heart: ✨ When he breaks the ice – the big cuddle! – he is timid and cautious at first, but when he gains confidence and realizes that you are his friend, he turns into a beautiful, affectionate cuddle. ✨ Curious spirit – despite fear, there is a great desire to explore and learn. 🐕 Getting along with dogs – gets along better with females and non-dominant males. Because of the trauma, he does not like large dogs and does not feel comfortable in their company. Cat 🐱 test – we do not know how it reacts to cats, but we will gladly do a test if the foster parents have a cat. 🎓 Requires experienced foster parents – Zubo is not a beginner's dog. He needs a home with people who have experience working with traumatized dogs, who understand his past and will give him stability, peace and patience. Zubo showed tremendous strength by surviving hell. Now he is looking for a man who will be his guide to a more peaceful and beautiful life.
