Roxy arrived at our shelter a few months ago, after she and her sister were found left deep in the woods. Both arrived at the shelter extremely wild, unsocialized and frightened. But through months of work Roxy has shown incredible potential — she is a dog in the type of Belgian shepherd (malinoe) who learns extremely quickly and is looking for structure. Her potential and desire to cooperate are seen in everyday trifles — it is enough just to say "Go to boxing!" and she, without any hesitation, goes to her place alone and proudly. Roxy is looking for a man who understands the psyche of working and unsocialized dogs: ✨ Extremely obedient and bright – understands the rules quickly and responds very well to clear communication and structure. ✨ Shy but willing to learn – she still struggles with fears with people, and she can nibble lightly in play or excitement, so she needs to continue socializing. 🧠 Work drive and smarts – like real malinois, looking for tasks, mental stimulation and a clear leader. 🐕 Great with dogs – gets along great with stable and friendly dogs (she doesn't only like hostile or aggressive dogs that scare her). ❌ She is not a cat person – due to a pronounced urge, the home must be free of cats. Adoption 🎓 requirements – Seek only experienced foster parents who have experience with breeds such as malinois and working with unsocialized/traumatized dogs. 🏠 EXTREMELY IMPORTANT – A TEMPORARY HOME (babysitter) IS also wanted! Roxy would be extremely helpful in a temporary home where someone could work with her one-on-one. Her brain is looking for work, and the shelter crowd is slowing her full progress.
