Rocky arrived at our shelter as many as three long years ago, after his owners simply moved away and left him behind. Since then, Rocky has calmly and patiently escorted several of his boxing roommates into their new, happy lives. Every time someone came to pick up his friend, Rocky accompanied them with his recognizable smile... and stayed waiting. His luck almost smiled once, but potential foster parents gave up as soon as they found out about his heartworm diagnosis. But Rocky didn't let it break his spirit! Despite three years of bars and a sheltered life, he is still the most cheerful boy living life to the fullest: ✨ Dancer of joy! – when excited and happy to see you, Rocky taps his paws on the floor like he's dancing the sweetest dance in the world! 🕺🐾 🎾 He loves balls and swimming – he is a real cheerful player at heart, he loves water, summer churning and running after the ball. 💖 A big cuddler and a good dog – he is extremely sweet, cuddly and behaves wonderfully on a leash. 🐕 Getting along with dogs – he gets along great with females (he was the best roommate to all the friends who went home). Cat 🐱 test – we do not know how it reacts to cats, but we will gladly do a test if the foster parents have a cat. 🩺 Health condition (Heartworm): Rocky is currently on several months of heartworm therapy. Therapy is ongoing, well tolerated, and our shelter provides all the support and instructions around the continuation of treatment. Heartworm is curable with regular therapy and should not be an obstacle for this beautiful dog to get a chance at life!
